BOOT CAMP

Welcome to Sentient BOOT CAMP! 

We are running a six week boot camp in Tarbert, Argyll at the Marina Marquee.  Drop in's are welcome but please read the FAQs beforehand at the bottom of this page.  

You won't get a workout with a better view anywhere else!

Marquee at Tarbert Marina, Garval Terrace, Tarbert PA29 6TR

Days and Times:

6:45 - 7:30 am

Tuesday ~ work out

Wednesday ~ work out

Thursday ~ yoga

Friday ~ free for all Fridays! (optional)

Cost:

Boot Camp is £60 for six weeks.  

Sessions are £6 each for drop in.  Booking is essential in advance if you haven't ever attended a sentient session before. If you have attended before then you can simply sign in on the day. 

Bank transfers are accepted but ideally payment through paypal is preferred. We can also accept cash.

 

Any funds will be used part for equipment for the sessions (such as blankets, mats, weights and blocks) and for insurance, courses etc.

FAQs

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

WORKOUTS 
Please wear appropriate clothing and bring a mat if you do not wish to exercise on the ground. Remember you are likely to get warm when exercising and the marquee floor can be dusty!  Please also bring water. 

YOGA 
Please bring with you something to practice on, a yoga mat or blanket and wear suitable clothing. 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear what you are comfortable in! You don't want to be distracted by your attire.

Leggings, yoga pants or loose fitting clothing is always preferable to allow movement. Jeans are not advised. Ideally you should practice barefoot for Yoga and wear trainers for Work Outs.

WHAT KIND OF YOGA IS IT?

The classes are vinyasa, or 'flow' with movement and breath.  As we start our Sentient sessions we will work with our attendees to see what kinds of classes work for people. We may split into beginners and more experienced at some point. Currently the classes are suitable for everyone.

I'M NOT VERY 'GOOD' AT YOGA, WHAT IF I CAN'T DO IT?

There is no such thing as being good or bad at yoga. Yoga is a personal practice for everyone. Movement with your own breath. Everyone body is different, every monkey mind is different, every feeling in the here and now is different.  Come and see for yourself!

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

 

The classes are open to 16+ ages. 

EATING BEFORE CLASS?

When it comes to food and digestion, each individual is different and needs to find out what works for them. In general I do not recommend a eating a large meal within 2 hours of a class - if you must eat within 2 hours of a class then a light meal or snack that it easily digested is best. It is recommended to be hydrated before a class so it is encouraged to drink some water beforehand.

The class was gentle but effective. Sarah's deep understanding of what she's doing is obvious and she's a kind and encouraging teacher.

It gave me the motivation to get up early! I enjoyed the sessions and felt that the regular sessions improved my fitness levels 

 That is the most relaxed I have felt in a very long time.  I thought it would be the loss of an hour but in reality it was the gaining of something much more important. 

Loved it, liked the fact that it was diverse (body weight, weight, yoga), no pressure, friendly environment, no judgment, and ended up liking the fact that it was so early! Great way to start the day 

I had a great time meeting new people and getting stronger throughout the duration of bootcamp. I especially enjoyed the yoga sessions and weights. Sarah and Craig are fantastic instructors, it's well worth the money. Highly recommend.

Fantastic way to start the morning both Sarah and Craig were motivating and supportive leaders, delighted to have graduated with their support from my first bootcamp.

Sarah and Craig are great teachers. Both skilled and knowledgeable they run a professional class and make everyone feel comfortable whatever their ability. 

As Sarah says 'as workers in a compassionate industry we push all day, so in Sentient sessions we don't want to push'. Sentient gives me a sense of accomplishment in taking time for myself, and Sarah combines mindfulness and humour perfectly to offer something more than just a yoga class.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Sentient session, it was calming and relaxing.

The class was really easy to follow and made me feel the benefit of a whole day's retreat in just 1 hour. It was really low pressure but gave me lots of great things to incorporate into my practice, not only in terms of a physical flow of poses but also the philosophy behind the practice that can be used in everyday life.

I have always wanted to discover yoga but never been sure what time or class to join. Sarah's sentient class was the perfect combination of stretching and relaxation. I'm hooked!

I have done a fair few yoga sessions before but I have never felt so relaxed after one before! Sometimes I can really struggle to keep up and find myself pushing too hard but this was the perfect level of comfort and I really could feel the energy working.
