Just in case anyone needs to read this today here is another incredible poem by John O'Donohue from his book To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings
There is a reason I share poetry with people who are suffering from compassion fatigue or related issues is not to preach or be cheesy it is because being elevated or taken away from your own head, even for a minute, allows space in the brain to rest from the constant firing of the sympathetic nervous system.
During my training the very wonderful Jessica Dolce seemed to think along the same lines and regularly read out poems to the class online. She asked us to think about which line perhaps resonated with us and I would encourage you to do the same. Sometimes self contemplation, and more broadly self awareness can lead to a realisation of the things we need to work on personally to help ourselves or improve ourselves if that is our goal.
